CBIZ’s internal Business Transformation & Innovation team is looking for a full time Manager to support their Outsourced Accounting Solutions Practice.
The Manager must have a background in full-cycle accounting and extensive experience implementing and supporting cloud-based finance and accounting software. Experience with supporting or implementing close management solutions such as FloQast, Blackline, Vena, Planful, Adra or Keeper, as well as other Accounting Software is required.
The ideal candidate has experience executing high volume implementation projects using the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model, with project management and product delivery experience.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting with a strong understanding of accounting principles, including close management.
- Experience using, implementing or supporting accounting software solutions related to close management and /or accounting workflow solutions, such as FloQast, Blackline, Vena, Planful, Adra or Keeper, as well as other general accounting software.
- Proficiency in established back-office accounting technology and the ability to troubleshoot and navigate applications fluently
- Project management experience and proficiency in relevant project management tools
- Hands-on experience with high-volume accounting solution implementations and third-party app integrations
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze data
- Ability to provide alternative solutions to identified gaps, and create business and technical requirements documentation
- Expertise delivering projects using a ‘best-practice’ project delivery approach
- Expertise defining and managing project scope, project plans, milestones, dependencies, communication plans, project risks, issues, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Experience conducting test case evaluations and static testing
- Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects at once, and adapt to changing / competing priorities
- Ability to manage and administer several cloud-based applications simultaneously
- Experience creating training documentation and rolling out new processes
- Outside the box thinking, utilizing best practices, leading projects with creativity, flexibility, and a sense of urgency
- Professional level of written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact and present to C-Level, clients and internal teams on an ongoing and timely basis
- Willingness to stay updated with evolving technologies and industry trends
- The ability to travel 20%
Preferred Skills:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Public accounting firm experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Certifications in general ledger, AP, AR, payroll or FP&A solutions
- Experience tracking and managing project budgets
Key Responsibilities:
- Finance and Accounting Tech Stack Implementation and Optimization
- Meet with CAS teams to collect data and other information required to determine potential inefficiencies in accounting processes
- Assess the current state tech stack design for a client or industry and make recommendations to optimize accounting processes
- Finance and Accounting Tech Stack Administration and Support
- Provide support and administration of cloud-based accounting solutions – including but not limited to new account setups, user administration, and troubleshooting technical issues
- Identify common support questions and create help documentation to address recurring issues
- Participate in providing annual CAS technology training to the CAS practice
- Create training and other documentation
- Be involved in testing solutions
- Project Management:
- Create project plans, detailing the tasks that need to be completed for a successful data migration and technology implementation
- Identify potential roadblocks or challenges; manage out of scope requests
- Track and report on key implementation progress metrics
- Identify and document standard processes and procedures
- Create and track project budget, resources and timeline; ensure project is on time and within budget
- Stakeholder Management:
- Build meaningful relationships with client-facing accounting teams
- Manage stakeholder expectations and maintain open lines of communication throughout the project management process
